9th Street Ramen, the long-awaited creation of chef Luke Reyes, will finally arrive in Downtown LA this summer in the former Chu’s Kitchen space.
DTLAer recently spoke to Reyes, best known for his stints at Butchers & Barbers and The Corner Door, who said construction is in full swing with menu testing already under way. The endeavor marks Reyes’ first foray into spearheading his own permanent culinary operation all the while running a cannabis infused dining club called La Hoja with events held at rotating restaurants – most recently at Genghis Cohen. As first reported by Eater LA, Reyes’ ramen spot will be serving up housemade noodles and broth including black ramen and tonkotsu bowls, along with beer and wine selections.
While there’s no official opening date set just quite yet, look for customers to start slurping up Reyes’ take on classic Japanese fare at 9th Street Ramen by July.
