La Tropézienne Bakery, an import from Saint-Tropez that made its Los Angeles debut last winter on La Brea, will soon be opening a Downtown LA branch at the corner of 8th & Main in the Historic Core. Regarded for its tarts, croissants, and breads, La Tropézienne’s menu will also feature sandwiches, coffee, and macarons as it looks to compete with the likes of nearby Paris Baguette and Bottega Louie. There’s no timeline just quite yet in terms of an opening date, but the former AltHouse space is currently undergoing a full build-out as it prepares to transform from clothing store to bakery. A late spring debut doesn’t seem out of the question, but DTLAer will keep you updated as more details become available.
