Rice ball specialist OMSB quietly opened earlier this month and is now welcoming customers for lunch in the Warehouse District. As first reported by Eater LA, the fast casual Japanese restaurant is the brainchild of Hide Takeuchi – best known for operating well-regarded sushi & bento spot Sanuki No Sato in Torrance. Takeuchi’s newest concept focuses heavily on its namesake dish omusubi, which is constructed using rice, protein, and seaweed, and is served with a side dish. Beyond food, OMSB features a matcha bar complete with 14 different flavors (including cream cheese and guava) of the popular drink. The new restaurant is open seven days a week from 11 a.m. until 5 p.m. with plenty of parking available in its private lot.
