Previously only available via food truck and upscale markets, Divine Dips Ice Crème is slated to officially start slinging treats at its new home on the corner of 6th and Los Angeles this weekend. The vegan ice cream company, founded by former baker Diane R. Jacobs, prides itself on creating health conscious, earth-friendly, and dairy-free desserts without sacrificing taste. Flavors range from chocolate raspberry truffle to amaretto almond trio and are made with organic ingredients including coconut milk, agave nectar, & almond milk, among others. The addition to the neighborhood marks the second notable arrival on East 6th in recent months with Divine Dips’ neighbor Palikao serving up couscous bowls, but former gastropub and market Artisan House, once the anchor tenant in the Pacific Electric Building, remains dormant with no signs of reemerging as a new business anytime soon.
