Santa Cruz-based Verve Coffee Roasters will welcome its second Downtown LA location with the opening of a new outpost in the Arts District later this year. The space will feature indoor and patio seating along with an on-site roaster and all the gear necessary for brewing the perfect cup at home available for sale. The coffee & tea shop will be housed next to Bestia chef Ori Menashe’s Middle Eastern-leaning sophomore restaurant Bavel, which is set to debut in the Arts District later this spring. There’s previously been talk of an ice cream shop and bakery from Carolyn Nugent and Alen Ramos, along with a market that will sell beer and wine for on-site consumption, but only Verve and Bavel are confirmed as of now. There’s no official opening date set for Verve’s Arts District arrival, but expect the nitro cold brew to start pouring in time for summer.
